Snow!

The other week we got a little snow storm (that shut down the state for the week....) and one good morning to play out in it.  This was really the first time either one of our kids had seen enough snow to play in and definitely their first time playing in snow.  They had a blast!  Until, that is, they got too wet and cold and then it was very long whiny trek back to the house to get dry.  But they had fun and Levi still talks about "sledding" in the snow.  Since it was their first time out in the snow I brought out the big camera to capture their initial responses to it.  :)

Birthday Fun!

Levi is officially 2!  He still does not grasp the concept of a birthday yet.  The cake and presents are still foreign to him (although he is starting to show interest in unwrapping the presents - just doesn't know what it means to get a present).  So, on his actual birth day we didn't do a whole lot.  The kid doesn't eat cake or ice cream and doesn't understand to want presents.  It was a pretty non-event.  :)  He did open a few presents from us, grandparents and some other family.  His favorite gift was a Bubble Mower (surprise surprise) from my Aunt Beth.

But I planned a little birthday party for him that we had at the beginning of July.  Momma was a little preoccupied at the beginning of June so I wasn't able to get invitations out till the week of his birthday.  Hence, for the delay in having the party.

We just invited a few of his 2 year old friends (and his cousin even though she is 3!) and made bubbles the theme!  It was a very cute idea and the kids had fun but was I sure frazzled by the end of the morning!  I totally underestimated how hard it would be on me to take care of an infant and host a small gathering (with wet soapy kids).  Thankfully Mike was off work so he wrangled the dog and kept his eye on Levi.  And my sister-in-law helped with food and served as my extra hand throughout the morning (even though she has her own 3 year old and infant too!).  So, I learned valuable lessons about a 2 year old birthday party.  One, being don't try one when you have such a young baby (unless you are super mom which I am NOT).  Second, keep it SIMPLE.  I thought I was doing a good job at that but I really needed to keep it dumb simple.  Two year olds have very small attention spans and never do what you expect them to do.  Because I was so frazzled I didn't take a lot of pictures and didn't take any until the end.  And my phone was the only thing handy so that was what I used.  :)  So excuse my poor quality pictures!

Hello Again!

So, if anyone is still reading our blog I apologize for the immense gaps in time that pass before I post a new entry.  I wish that I could keep up with this but time gets away from me and before I know it 6 months has passed!  I am going to *try* and update this regularly now that we have 2 kiddos to share about.  :)

This post I'll share a little about our new addition!  Charlotte Suzanne arrive May 17th at 8lbs 3oz and 22.5 inches long.  Long baby!  She is now 6 weeks old and growing like a weed.  She has been such a sweet baby and for that we are very grateful.  :)  Here are a few pictures from the past month of Miss Charlotte.

Farm Days!

Ok, I realize that this blog has been very poorly attended to over the past few months.  I'm sorry!  Life has just been busy busy busy.  Between chasing a toddler, growing a baby, working on business stuff and just all general stuff this blog got neglected.  So much has happened since we last posted too!  Finding out we are having a baby girl, a trip to Florida to see friends and visit Disney, and a new nephew - born just this week!

But I have a moment today and thought I would update everyone on normal life.  :)  My neighbor invited us to Farm Days over at the NC State Agricultural School this morning and since Nana and Grandpa were down (due to my nephew's early delivery) we all went for a little field trip.  I was so glad that Nana and Grandpa were there!  Levi just wanted to run all over the place rather than look at the animals.  We were able to reign his attention and look at and pet a few animals.  He was most impressed (and even a little scared) of the cows.  He just stared and stared at them.   :)  Thank you, Nana, for taking some pictures of our outing!  We ended the fun little trip with free NC State homemade ice cream (which Levi would not eat - doesn't know what he is missing!).

#2!

This is super late but figured it needed to be posted here as well.  (The whole world knows already!)  The Camp Family is going to be getting even bigger come May 2012.  :)  We will be expecting baby #2 sometime around May 16th.  We find out in a few weeks if it will be a baby brother or a baby sister!

One of my good friends, Casey Martinez, captured some great family photos for us - including this one.  Doesn't Levi look so happy about his news??

September Travels

We were busy busy during the month of September.  Gone, then home for a few days, gone again, home again.  Whew!  Glad to be home to stay for a little while.  :)

We took our 2nd Outer Banks vacation with the Ball Family and the Charles Family.  We had a great time!  Very relaxing.  And despite the mosquitoes which were brewed up by Hurricane Irene the beach was quite nice most of the week.  It got cold and rainy at the very end of the week but we were going home so no matter.  :)

We were home for a week and then turned around, got on a plane and flew up to Pittsburgh.  We were there for the GCC Homecoming but also to spend time with good friends that I miss dearly!  We stayed with Jenna and Danny who graciously opened their cute little Pittsburgh home to us.  We had a great time catching up with everyone!

Outer Banks Vacation

We just got back from one of two Outer Banks vacations that we are taking this year.  This past week we stayed in Duck with the Camp Family.  Levi was sick for most of it which dampened the fun a bit but we made the most of it.  He wasn't sleeping well and was waking at the crack of dawn every morning so I figured I might as well take advantage of it.  So Thursday morning I drug Mike and Levi down to the beach for a little photo shoot.  Haley (she was up super early that morning too) came along too but she wasn't crazy about getting dirty or getting her picture taken - as you can see.  :)
