Valentine's Day

I am not one to make a big deal about little holidays like Valentine's Day bur I do like doing some sort of tradition for my kids to remember and look forward to.  My mom and Mike's mom (presents not pictured because we hadn't received them yet) got the kids little presents and I decided to get them some $1 window clings to decorate our big windows in the kitchen.  They loved it all.  So the night before I just set everything at their seats in the kitchen and let them find them when they came down for breakfast.  Levi loved opening his card and playing with his stuffed horse and Charlotte wanted to open her stickers.  :)  And even 2 weeks later they are enjoying those $1 stickers!  Since Levi hasn't been into presents until now and Charlotte was too young until these past few months to get it, I had fun with them on this morning.  They both enjoyed and "got" what the holiday was all about.  And we ended up having a snow day so everyone (except Daddy) was home all day!

Potty Training

Levi was tracked out of school in January so we decided to come home from Christmas activities and stay at home and work on potty training with him.  It has taken about 6 weeks but we are finally making significant head-way.  I took him out this morning in underpants with no problems!  A side effect of Levi's potty training was that Charlotte wanted to get involved.  Why not, you get Hershey kisses!  :)  We are definitely not doing anything hard core with her but if she asks we go ahead and take her.  It has been hit and miss but she has had quite a few days of staying clean for almost the whole day.  Even bought her some big girl pants the other day - we'll see if that really goes anywhere.  ;)  For now, she is having fun!

"Little Momma" {January}

My sweet baby girl is getting so big each and every day. It has been such a joy for us to watch her grow and learn new things.  One of the sweetest things to watch is the way she "cares" for her dolls and animals, in particular, her baby doll.  She loves pushing "Baby" around in her stroller, giving her drinks, feeding her, and making sure she has her bow on.  :)  One morning we were playing with "Baby" and I showed her how she could sit in her backpack too.  She wasn't such a fan of "Baby" being in the backpack so she quickly abandoned the idea of carrying her around and switched just to making sure she got her milk.  I just love watching her "momma" instinct grow and I want to foster that innate desire to care for and be compassionate towards others.  So thankful to be given glimpses into her little personality (both strengths and weaknesses) and pray that God will provide us with wisdom to help guide her (and Levi!).
