Blue paint

We spent all afternoon today painting our bedroom a lovely blue/gray color. As of 5:30 PM it is still not finished but it is getting there. We got a little hungry and needed to stop for a food break. Painting was not the most fun part of the whole afternoon however. The best part - I recommend this for anyone who would like to work on patience - was to listen to our dog bark for 3 hours in his kennel. We had to put him in there so we didn't have blue paw prints around the house. He knew we were upstairs and so wanted to join us! He is finally calm and happy to be out of his cage. So one room down, 2 more to go on the project list. :)

Cold South!

It has been pretty cold (and wet) down here in North Carolina. Over the weekend we had a "big" snowstorm. It didn't amount to much, unfortunately, but it was still kind of fun. Then we had some very low temps and a little bit of ice to deal with. Here are some pictures from our little snowstorm on Saturday.

Recap of events

Mike and I survived the hussle and bussle of Christmas and all the wedding festivities surrounding the holiday this year. Christmas was very nice and fun exchanging gifts and seeing all of our families. It was a busy day for sure! We did the rounds visiting 3 houses in one day. No breathing time after Christmas - had to get right down to wedding business. Everything was lovely and beautiful. And now we have a very sweet new sister-in-law! I will very soon get some pictures up of all our events. Being a member of the wedding party didn't allow me to take a whole lot of pictures but I did my best.
We got back to North Carolina right before New Years. We had to return to work for December 31st but then had a day off to catch our breath and get back into the swing of things. We had a very nice New Years Eve - hung out with my new co-worker and his adorable new wife. We took the doggie for a nice long walk around Lake Pine on New Years morning and then attacked the Christmas decorations in the afternoon. Mike left for Bay St. Louis Mississippi on Saturday morning for a week. He went down with a team from Mt. Airy Presbyterian Church (our MD church home) through MTW to rebuild homes affected by Hurricane Katrina and to minister to the folks down there. He gets back on Saturday - I already miss him so much! Just me and the doggie for the next few days.
I will try to get some pictures up to give a slideshow of all the recent activities. Hope you all have a good Tuesday afternoon. :)
